A Colorful Multicultural Wedding at The Maples Estate
There’s something about a wedding that’s a whole weekend experience. You get to create your own world with all your favorite people. Olivia and Edison’s wedding at The Maples Estate did exactly that. Their colorful multicultural celebration was a unique, deeply personal experience. I was lucky enough to preserve it in documentary-style photos.

The Maples Estate
The Maples Estate is a really unique wedding venue. It’s big with 12.5 acres total. The grounds include a lawn for games, a fire pit, a pond, rolling fields, and verdant trees.

The stunning farmhouse was built in the 19th century, and it has been renovated with history in mind. The bright, cozy rooms are a great place to settle in with your closest people.

Usually, ceremonies take place outside. The Maples Estate is one of those venues that is at its best when you can spend lots of time outside. Olivia and Edison’s ceremony is a great example. Their ceremony took place between stands of trees. It felt really lush and lovely.

Worried about rain on your wedding day? You can always move your ceremony to the covered patio. Your guests still get to enjoy the views, and you keep that natural feeling.

One of the best things about getting married at The Maples Estate is that you get to stay at the venue for three or four nights depending on which package you choose. You get the property for your entire wedding weekend, so you can do your rehearsal dinner and wedding without having to go anywhere. It really feels like you’re in your own world.

There are enough accommodations for up to 17 overnight guests, too. You can swim in the pool and have a leisurely brunch after your wedding with your wedding party or family members. It’s like having a destination wedding without leaving New York.

A Multicultural Wedding for Olivia and Edison
Olivia and Edison’s wedding is proof that there are so many ways to make your wedding day your own. They honored their cultures in their ceremony and reception. Their decor brought so much personality to The Maple Estate, too. Their wedding was all about color, lots of vibrant color everywhere.

Edison’s family is Ecuadorian. The ceremony site and reception included traditional textiles and crafts. At the reception, a troupe of traditional dancers helped kick off festivities.

Olivia brought her culture into the wedding day, too. At the end of the ceremony, they jumped the broom. Someone decorated the broom with beautiful white flowers. It was such a meaningful and joyful way to close the ceremony.

I can’t get over all the color at this wedding. The fringe installation in the reception space created a playful, joyful atmosphere. They felt like an extension of the palette in the dancers’ traditional outfits. In a venue like The Maples Estate, this was an ideal way to customize the space.
